At the Top of the Mountain: The Adventures of Will Ryan and the Civilian Conservation Corps, 1936-38, Book III (Images from the Past)

The adventures of Will and his CCC friends in Book III, the last of this three-book series, include floods, rescues, and a fire, along with plenty of fun. Will also participates in the traditional tasks of rural Vermont – planting crops and helping neighbors – and new pleasures and pastimes such as movies and dances. By the end of the story, after years of hard work and danger, the boys of CCC Camp 129 have reached the top of the mountain. As the corpsmen celebrate the completion of the summit road and prepare to move to another CCC camp, Will, Ryan, and his best friend Carrie ponder what the future may hold after their upcoming last year of High School.
