Sir George Grey, K.C.B., 1812-1898; a study in colonial government

The author, Professor of History at Auckland University examines the career of George Grey as a colonial governor in the Southern Hemisphere during 27 years of Victoria's reign - including Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. After retirement he fought a 20 year battle for the political liberties of the people of New Zealand.
