A season at Brighton

The three Denham girls were looking forward to a season at Brighton, that fashionable resort presided over by George, Prince of Wales, when at the last minute, their mother insisted on cancelling the visit because Viscount Pamyngton eligible son of her closest friend the Countess of Nevern-had arrived home unexpectedly. Great hopes had been built on making a marriage between the two families but which of the three girls would he choose? Eleanor, who was attractive, would readily agree to become the Countess of Nevern but she was rather young; Louisa, the eldest and handsomest, of the three, had fallen hopelessly in love with a clergyman whom her parents thought unsuitable; and Catherine...Catherine was an impetuous and harebrained minx...a thoroughly unfitting match for Viscount Pamyngton of Nevern Hall!
