Amy Dixon is a normal 6th grader starting a normal school year—same ol’ school… same ol’ friends… same ol’ book-thieving-slimeball… same ol’ deer on the play-ground, and snakes in the classroom… Then a month into school something happens that is NOT normal and she is faced with the serious possibility that her life will never be the same again. As the year progresses, Amy and her brother Jesse try to balance their joys and fears with daily life, which marches on with all of its normal ups and downs, laughter and tears and unexpected turns.
