The Allegheny story

Memories of Old Allegheny's Dutchtown written by the assistant City Editor of the Post-Gazette. He tells of First Ward where Andrew Carnegie lived with his brother and widowed mother where he worked as a bobbin boy in one of the city's cotton mills. It was also here that David and Harry Oliver, who later became wealthy iron merchants grew up. The tales are often illustrated with black and white photographs.
