As the sun beats down
From Scottish skies,
Lighting up her hair,
Sparkling in her eyes.
We chance upon a
Nice wee bothy
And stay a while for
Lunch and coffee
Dried apricots went down
A treat
While we sit and
Sooth our feet.
A beautiful start, to a
Beautiful day,
I hope the day will
End this way.
A day in the wild
With a girl by my side,
Could I ask for more?
I boast with pride.
I may not be a poet,
(or a writer for a start)
but when you have
something special
you cannot help but start.
I know it’s not exactly
Shakspeare
What I’m writing from this seat
And the only Burns that’s in me,
Are the sores upon my feet!

I wanted a job, so I got a job…. Heaven knows I’m miserable now.
