About the Author

Douglas Clegg wrote Naomi as the world's first e-serial novel in 1999. It was then published in hardcover and paperback. Now in a new, revised digital edition from Alkemara Press. Inspired by Manhattan itself, a private loss and a love for the history and legend of the subways themselves, Naomi was originally written week-by-week and episodes were emailed to reader via the newsletter at Clegg's website.

From Clegg: "I've always loved stories of witches, and I lived in the New York City area at the time I began Naomi. One day in Manhattan, I got lost in the subways, taking a train to an area I didn't know. There, I saw a woman who seemed upset -- almost desperate. She was a stranger to me, but I worried about her later...and this led me to create Naomi and her double."
