The thrilling sequel to "Angel In Jeopardy".
As the war draws to a close, with the downfall of Nazi Germany a certainty, the victors begin to determine who are those guilty of war crimes who should be brought to justice. High on this list is Anna Fehrbach, Countess von Widerstand. The Russians regard her as the most guilty of all, for her attempt on the life of Stalin and her consequent, bloody escape from the Lubianka prison in 1941. The Swiss merely regard her as a wanted murderess. To the Americans, she has become a potential danger. Employed by them, in extreme secrecy since 1941, in 1944 they are in an election year, and the embarrassment of their having to confess that they have used such a woman to further their aims could well swing the electorate against president Roosevelt, standing for an unprecedented fourth term. The British, for whom she has worked as a double agent since before the war, simply do not know what they will do with her when the shooting stops, but a public trial is not an option in view of what she might say. While her German masters determine that the best thing to do with her is send her on a last, suicide mission. But Anna has not earned her soubriquet of the most dangerous woman in the world for no reason, as those who seek to destroy her find out.
