The nine volumes of The Frick Collection: An Illustrated Catalogue chronicle the museum's world-famous holdings of paintings, sculpture, furniture, gilt bronzes, enamels, porcelains, rugs, and silver. Since The Frick Collection was first opened to the public in 1935, it has come to be recognized as one of the world's finest small museums. The paintings, which constitute the core of the Collection, range from the thirteenth through the late nineteenth century, and include major works by such artists as Duccio, Bellini, Piero della Francesca, van Eyck, El Greco, Valázquez, Holbein, Titian, Rembrandt, Vermeer, Van Dyck, Boucher, Fragonard, Gainsborough, Goya, Turner, Ingres, and Whistler.
