A Climber's Guide to the Seward Highway South of Anchorage

This was the first rock climbing guide that covered climbing in the Anchorage area. Prior to the first publication in April 1987 information on crag locations and routes was passed by word of mouth.

Rik Derrick, local hardman and climbing historian, provided information on most of the routes covered in the guide. Paul Denkewalter, proprietor of the only real climbing shop in Anchorage, Alaska Mountaineering and Hiking, sponsored the original printing and acted as editor. I wrote the text and sketched the crags.

Although some crags have been removed by road construction, most are still popular spots for locals and visitors.

Proceeds from sale of this guide will go to a few beers and what remains will be donated to the Access Fund.
