-As house guest of one of the Huntington Museum's board members, and busy with her restoration project, art restorer Andrea Perkins is dimly aware of the recovery of a corpse on the grounds of the museum.

LAPD detective Tina Roberson and Eduardo Lopez, however, are very involved, exploring a connection between the dead body a vagrant named Goochie murdered on his way back from the Santa Anita racetrack and the acts of a graffiti artist who is [spraying garish clothes on the statues.
