Amsterdam

New 2015 edition completely updated by the authors, January 2015.

The Amsterdam and Beyond Travel Guide is a pocket guidebook to the best of Amsterdam, written by two award-winning travel experts. It is published in the Beyond Travel series, a series of city guides published by the Beyond London Travel website. Other titles in the series include city guides to Lyon, Marseille, Bordeaux, Toulouse and Montpellier, all available for the Kindle.

Contents
The book describes the best sights to see in Amsterdam, with dozens of colour photographs to help bring the city to life. All the top Amsterdam attractions are here: The Anne Frank House, the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh Museum, the Stedelijk Museum, and many more. The book is 25,000 words long, the equivalent of a printed pocket guidebook of about 120-130 pages. Take a 'Look Inside' to see the extensive Table of Contents.

The guide also has sections on the best shopping, and recommends a range of hotels and restaurants to suit all budgets. There are colour maps showing the attractions in each part of Amsterdam, and also Rotterdam and The Hague. There are online interactive versions of the maps too, if you have an internet connection.

The lengthy Practical Information section tells you everything you need to know to plan a visit to Amsterdam, whether travelling by air, road, rail or ferry. It covers currency, the cost of living, annual events, public holidays, opening hours, crime and safety, health, phones, the internet, useful phrases - everything from embassies and consulates to public toilets.

Beyond Amsterdam
If you have time to make a day trip from Amsterdam, the guide also covers the two most popular options: to Rotterdam, with its fabulous modern architecture, and to The Hague, for its old-world charm and great museums. For both cities we cover the things to see, suggest some hotels if you plan to stay overnight, pick out a few restaurants, and in Rotterdam we also cover the shopping options.
