Just a Larger Family: Letters of Marie Williamson from the Canadian Home Front,19401944 (Life Writing)

When, in 1940, Marie and John Williamson welcomed two English brothers to join them for the duration of the war, no one knew how long it would last. Marie wrote over 150 letters to their mother, Margaret Sharpe, hoping to ease any concern. The letters reflect the lives and concerns of a family, but also a portrait of Canada's largest city in wartime.
