Description

We will be doing a beach clean up at White Point/Royal Palms Park in San Pedro, CA, on Sunday, June 16 (Father's Day) at 8 a.m. to honor the memory of environmentalist Sarah Auffret who perished in the crash of Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302 in March of this year. She was on her way to attend a UN Conference as an advocate for reducing plastic waste in our oceans as part of her role as the Environmental Agent of the Association of Arctic Expedition Cruise Operators (AECO). Similar events will take place around the globe on Sarah's birthday, June 16.

Please wear sturdy shoes and sensible clothing. Don't forget a hat and sun block. Please bring gardening gloves and a bucket or reusable bag (an old pillow case works great) to collect trash. We will try to avoid wasting latex gloves and plastic bags. And please bring your own reusable water bottle, not single use plastic.

We will meet at the bottom of the access road, Kay Fiorentino Drive, between the two parking lots. Metered parking is available in the park; you can park for free along Paseo del Mar at the top of the bluff, but please allow extra time to make it down to the park.

The address is 1799 Paseo del Mar, San Pedro, CA 90732.
